Exterior Features
The 2012 Honda CR-V is a compact crossover vehicle offered in four different trim levels. Sixteen-inch steel wheels are standard,with larger wheels available on higher grades.
Interior Features
The 2012 Honda CR-V offers seating for 5 passengers. Base CR-V models include cloth seats,automatic headlights,air conditioning,full power accessories,cruise control,rearview camera,and more. Higher trim levels are fitted with leather upholstery,sunroof,rear privacy glass,roof rails,heated front seats,and other premium equipment.
Optional Features
Major options are bundled into packages for specific trim levels. These include leather upholstery,navigation,and a rear-seat entertainment system in the EX-L.
Under the Hood
Honda CR-V models come with a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine rated at 185 horsepower. A 5-speed automatic transmission is standard. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard,but all-wheel drive (AWD) is optional. When properly equipped,the Honda CR-V can tow 1500 pounds,according to the automaker.
Fuel Economy
EPA fuel-economy figures for the 2012 Honda CR-V are:
- Honda CR-V FWD: 23/31 mpg (city/highway)
- Honda CR-V AWD: 22/30 mpg (city/highway)
Safety
Standard safety features of note on the 2012 Honda CR-V include side curtain air bags and active head restraints. Because the CR-V is redesigned for 2012,it has not yet been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
