Class leading luxury brand of General Motors, Cadillac renaissance is generally traced back to the introduction of the rear-drive CTS in 2002 targeted directly at the BMW 3 Series. But before that, in 1999, it is a Cadillac Escalade that puts the spotlight just as the luxury SUV segment taking off. The second generation CTS Coupe and Sportwagon variants carry. SRX crossover is another model for volume brands. A flagship luxury sedan, known as the XTS, arriving in 2012 to replace the SLS and DTS.

2012 Cadillac SRX 3 6L v6As mentioned, the biggest news for 2012 is the new 3.6-liter, direct-injected V6 engine, similar to the one in the CTS, which puts out 308 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque at 2400 rpm lower down. This is a huge improvement over the previous year offerings of 3.0-liter V6 or 2.8-liter V6 Turbo. And the gas mileage on our AWD test car still respectable 16 mph city and 23 mpg highway, which is 1 mpg less than the standard front-wheel drive model. During the trip 500-mile highway, SRX we registered 25.5 mpg when cruising at 70 miles per hour and 23 mpg when at 75 miles per hour. Recommended regular gas, not premium required on turbo last year.Now all the horses still have to move £ 4,442 car (AWD adds £ 165 for front-wheel drive models). So while the acceleration is not a broken neck, (zero to 60 in the range of 7 seconds) SRX is a smart move and a 6-speed automatic transmission to make all the changes smoothly and easily, quickly downshifts for passing maneuvers. Model All-wheel-drive is equipped with an electronic limited-slip differential, and can route as much as 85 percent of the power to the rear wheels. Cadillac to pay much attention to the SRX's ride quality. It is firm, not floaty, though not lean in turns because of all the SUVs do. Fortunately it is relatively minimal and quick side-to-side direction changes will not interfere with the car or the driver. It also absorbs bad pavement and potholes well, even in our SRX tester with the optional 20-inch wheels.
