Bugatti may just have the original engine with 16 cylinders are embedded in the body of the Veyron. But, Bugatti is not alone status as a producer who developed the 16-cylinder engine.
This time it just might be that only the Bugatti Veyron has 16 cylinders and the engine still produced. But long before the Bugatti are already some manufacturers who are serious about playing in the 16-cylinder engine.
The first car immediately to mind when talking of course is the 16-cylinder Bugatti Veyron. But do you know, the early prototype is eighteen-cylinder engine. When reached production Veyron, Bugatti throw a turbocharged four-cylinder but adds to get the output to 1,000 horsepower.

The result was born the Cizeta V16T based on the original design for the Diablo. Sixteen-cylinder engine consists of a pair of transversely mounted V8s. Capable of producing 540 horsepower. Cizeta only make 11 units of this car in between the period 1991 and 1995. Each sold at a price of USD300 thousand.
One of the earliest and most influential is that the 16-cylinder engine Auto Union owned. Hailed as the current Audi predecessor, Auto Union built a V16 engine for the Type C or famous racing cars before the advent of modern Formula One.
Auto Union Type C to compete with Mercedes-Benz. Currently, only one unit remaining sixteen-cylinder engine variants of known existence. The car was treated Audi since 1979 after being bombed during the war.
