Because of China's increasingly crowded market, a trio of German luxury car manufacturer, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, looking for potential new markets. Shooting falls on India, with top-selling models are hatchbacks. To that end, all three German manufacturers will offer some hatchback models in the future.
Bloomberg reported, Mercedes-Benz A-Class will be introduced in mid-2013, followed by the BMW 1 Series and the Audi A4 in early 2014. Indian hatchback market is one of the largest in the world. Mercedes-Benz A-Class will be sold in India at a price of 2.2 million rupees (USD 380 million).
It is predicted that the Indian market will explode in 2020, or four times that of last year. For the world will grow 40 percent. "We are not going to grow if kept concentrated in mature markets. Developing countries such as India, Korea, Brazil, Russia and China are very important, "said Pilipp von Sahr, President of BMW India.
